"I always liked telling stories," Kaye says of the reason he became an actor despite having reservations.

Thorsten Kaye (Ian) has a confession to make: “I didn’t want to be an actor. I don’t want to be an actor now,” he told a group of fans recently. With a talent like his, why the heck not? Because it’s a heavy burden to bear. “I do think that without being preachy, it’s a huge responsibility being an actor, especially in this country because your athletes and actors are the role models,” he offers. “It’s a huge responsibility for us to do a good job and tell a story that’s worth listening to. So no, I don’t want that responsibility.” Having taking on the mantle despite his reservations, Kaye treads carefully by being choosy with his roles. “Whatever character I play, which there aren’t very many, it has to be close to who I am or else I couldn’t do a good job with it,” he says. “There are many similarities between Ian and myself. It’s the only way I could tell the truth, I think.”
