There's
nothing quite so sad as watching a grown man cry...except maybe if he's
sitting by his dying wife's bedside mourning the loss of a woman he loved
like a mother. Such was the state that poor ALL MY CHILDREN's Zach
found himself in just days before Christmas. "Hey beautiful, I've
got some sad news. Myrtle died last night," he began. Opening
the custom scrapbook he'd received just that day from the late woman, Zach
was hit by a flood of memories -- not all of them good. Hands shaking,
he flipped the pages, each heavy with the weight of Myrtle's words of wisdom
behind each image. "I never knew anyone like her," Zach sighed.
A tear streaked down his cheek as he remembered the most important message
that the sage lady had shared. "Patience. That's Myrtle's last
message to me," he recalled. And as he looked longingly at a comatose
Kendall, hoping against hope that she'd wake up, it was exactly the word
he needed to keep in mind.
